Building on a highly successful track record of joint maritime projects, Metal Shark Croatia and Iskra Shipyard Šibenik have solidified their strategic partnership through major state fleet renewals. By combining Metal Shark’s world-class naval architecture and engineering with Iskra’s high-tech aluminum construction capabilities, the collaboration continues to secure high-profile international and state tenders.
The partnership recently achieved a major milestone with the delivery of the first advanced SAR 15 Search and Rescue vessels to the Port Authorities of Pula and Split. These 15-meter aluminum craft are designed for high-speed performance exceeding 35 knots, featuring self-righting capabilities and a “virtually unsinkable” design engineered to handle the harshest maritime conditions.
Expanding on this operational success, Metal Shark Croatia has teamed up with Iskra once again to secure a €17.5 million contract for a state-of-the-art 37.4-meter Coastal Patrol Vessel (CPV) for the Croatian Ministry of the Interior. Designed by Metal Shark, this highly complex flagship vessel outcompeted fierce international bidding from Italy, Turkey, and Germany. Equipped with advanced multi-sensor systems, a 6-meter daughter craft, and dedicated spaces to support up to 105 rescued individuals, this vessel is built for border protection and FRONTEX operations. Together, these initiatives highlight Metal Shark Croatia’s role as a premier designer of specialized, high-specification aluminum vessels for vital government and emergency agencies.
